The SSB Handbook

TAT · Thematic Apperception Test

What happens

TAT presents a run of pictures followed by a blank slide. For each picture you write a story with a situation, a central character, thoughts, action and outcome.

The blank slide removes the picture prompt and leaves you to choose the situation. Across the set, assessors read patterns rather than treating one story as a verdict.

This is a prototype for review. Guidance and quotations come from the handbook. The decision paths, original practice items, generated stimulus images and Malayalam help are new drafts and are not yet approved by the author.
